CEU Course Description
Workplace violence is a growing concern nationwide. Millions of Americans fall victim to workplace violence every year and health care professionals are among the groups most affected by job-related violence. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has developed strategies to identify, prevent and manage workplace violence. This CEU provides nurses with information on OSHA strategies to assist them in establishing and strengthening workplace violence prevention programs to stop workplace violence before it starts.
CEU Course Objectives
- Define workplace violence and examine workplace violence risk factors and overall impact.
- Evaluate the process of developing, maintaining and strengthening workplace violence programs.
- Distinguish the differences between engineering controls and administrative and work practice controls, while obtaining an understanding of OSHA regulations and requirements.
